This is our regular Provence rosé, and I’d reckon we’ve knocked off (easily) more than 20 bottles since last spring, so I thought I’d better push out a note. Pale. White peach and redcurrant, a bit of tang and ruby red grapefruit, light chalky feel, freshness and vibrancy. Good zesty length. Such a good drink. It keeps you coming back for more…
Wine Spectator – Light-bodied and elegant, this fresh Pinot Gris enlivens the flavors of kumquat, stone, melon and sliced almond with a zesty streak of acidity. Offers a lightly spiced, tangy finish. Drink now through 2020.
Wine Enthusiast – Ripe, yellow pear, stone and earth are united by a zesty grapefruit perfume. The streak of purity at the center of this is invigorating, with an enlivening backbone of tinkling acidity. This bottling does justice to a difficult vintage-and is all the more alluring for it. Something racy and pure at the core makes you want to delve deeply into this wine.
World Wine – The 2013 Beaujolais Villages 'Prestige' comes from 100-year-old vines. It possesses more intensity on the nose than the Elégance with a light touch of liquorice joining the red and black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red and black fruit, sappier than the Elégance with fine poise on the finish that just cuts away a little quickly. Otherwise, this is another fine Beaujolais Villages from winemaker Laurent Savoye. 90 Points – Neil Martin, eroberparker.com
