About This Wine

Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux 2016 is a cru bourgeois which is part of a line of red wines of character and charm. The history of this cru goes back to its creation in 1850 by the Dutruch family. Today owned by François Cordonnier, the estate continues to produce quality Moulis-en-Médoc appellation wines. The vineyard is located on the croup of Grand Poujeaux, itself made up of Garonne gravel. The grape varieties for this 2016 vintage wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. These four grape varieties, which are well known in Bordeaux, make this vintage a wine with a deep garnet colour.

Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux has a good ageing potential, which allows you to enjoy a more interesting tasting after a stay in the cellar (between 5 and 10 years). On the nose, it reveals an aromatic bouquet of ripe fruit, with hints of toast, vanilla and cocoa.

The palate is rather robust with powerful and finely woody tannins. The finish is spicy. On the table, it is advisable to savour red meats, vegetables (mushrooms, for example) or hard cheeses with this red wine.
