this elevates the spice component untold. It is a great inclusion, along with the subtle lacing of orange peel,

wine speaks eloquently of its place in the Victorian hills, but it also expounds fragrance, finesse and energy. It's
a super wine. You can drink this now, but it borders on frisky. I love it as is, but the wine will only gain in stature,
complexity and nuance as it ages. Five years from release might be a good rule of thumb, but you go your own

...Lovely full bodied wine, intense but not heavy, enough tannin to carry flavour and to make it stand up with food. Plummy, spicy, good balance, harmony, freshness, beautiful drinkability although will age well as well.
We suggest drinking now until 10 years hence, but it would last a lot longer."
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Gorgeous as well, with pure blackberry, cassis, licorice, charred earth and crushed flower aromas and flavors, the Châteauneuf du Pape La Reine des Bois (roughly 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and the rest Syrah, Vaccarese and Counoise) is medium to full-bodied, pure and layered. One of the more approachable examples of this cuvee I've tasted, it should be relatively civilized on release, yet evolve gracefully given its overall balance and freshness. Drink 2017-2027. 93-95+
Wine Enthusiast – This wine is dark and earthy at first, but opens with airing to reveal bold notes of blueberry, mocha and peppery spice. This 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah is full bodied, richly textured and finishes long.
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – It offers fabulous black cherry, licorice, wet gravel and ample crushed rock like minerality. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, elegant and polished.
Wine Spectator – Steely, with lemon pith, gooseberry and fleur de sel notes streaking over a flinty spine. An echo of lemon curd in the background adds nice contrast.
James Suckling – Darker fruit on the nose with walnut, spice box, incense and espresso bean, too. Medium-bodied, firm and structured with polished tannins and a creamy, compact mid-palate. Quality dark oak spice throughout. Long and rich. Better from 2024.
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – An icon wine of Tuscany, the Fèlsina 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia (with 48,000 bottles made) is distinguished by its special aromatic fingerprint that truly brings us to a sense of place. At its heart, the wine reveals dark fruit and plum. More interesting, however, are the dusty mineral sensations that give so much texture and depth to the Rancia. These aromas can only be found in Sangiovese from the galestro and alberese-rich soils of Chianti Classico. This vintage follows up with sweet tobacco, toasted chestnut and scorched earth. Give this wine more time to flesh out and evolve in the bottle.
World Wine – "Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. Brooding nose with sweet earthy notes. This is from a single, high-elevation vineyard in Lamole, but seems more plush than Fontodi's 2019 offering. Deep, concentrated pure cherry palate of amazing length and with lots of juice and persistent gravelly, clinging tannins on the finish." Walter Spencer (jancisrobinson.com)
Wine Enthusiast – This is a ripe, rich and full-bodied selection that has a flavor of spiced pear. It has weight and intensity, a wine that is on the sweeter side of brut, although this character is finely integrated. The finish brings out delicious acidity.

James Suckling – 96 Points - "Representing a lighter shade of Barossa, the suite of wine from Alex Head gets better each year. While this is full-bodied in terms of extract and alcohol, it is vibrant, subtly reductive, detailed and immaculately poised, making for effortless drinking. Limestone soils impart a je ne sais quoi tension to a whirl of white pepper, clove, boysenberry, deli meats and lilac. Yet what makes this so impressive is the combination of tannin, juicy freshness and confident oak handling, all boding well for cellaring. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.
