About This Wine
100% Sangiovese grown in the Tuscan appellation sub-regions of Siena, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia and Arezzo on calcareous, clay soils. Another great growing season in 2018 produced high quality ripe fruit that underwent pre-fermentation maceration on skins to extract colour followed by fermentation in tank.
Sangiovese translates form Italian as the ‘blood of Jupiter’, the roman god of the heavens… it is a variety that retains good levels of acidity to refresh and no doubt it is a heavenly drop!
This voilet fragrant delight is an excellent choice for any Pinot Noir lover. Light red, which is a hallmark of the Sangiovese grape, embodying and adapting to the unique Tuscan soil like a chameleon. The palate is harmonious and dry, with fine grape tannins and a savoury finish. Pair this gem with a hearty pasta dish and young fresh cheeses whilst enjoying this little piece of Italian paradise young or over the new 2-3 years.
