Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – The 2021 Gimmeldinger Kapellenberg Riesling is very clear and precise on the nose, with intense and elegant fruit and green tea aromas and notes of crushed sandstones. On the palate, this is a generous, lush and salty-savory Riesling with a crunchy phenolic grip and stimulating finish. It is still very young but elegant and with a ripe and elegant Riesling fruit. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in November 2022. - Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker Wine Advocate 2022

James Halliday – From old, dry-grown vines planted in the Watervale parish of Clare Valley. This drinks a treat. Tightly wound but with some pliancy and juiciness, too. Lemon, lime and green apple scents and flavours with a tidy line of granitic, minerally acidity through the core. It feels very precise and pent up with huge velocity and energy and a very long tail of puckering tang. Sheesh, this is great! Classic Clare, but on a pedestal. Drink now or cellar long.” - Mike Bennie

James Halliday – A textural feast! It's chewy, chalky, puckering and shows deeper, complex fruit characters amongst minerally elements and light, nutty savouriness. Serious expression here. Scents of lime, blackcurrant, wet slate and flint. Similar flavours, very intense and concentrated with bristling acidity underlying. Boom. Big impact. It's a compelling wine for its complexity. - Mike Bennie

The Wine Front – “I love the perfume of this, the cuts of apple, the lingers of bath salts and brine, the sustained exuberance. There’s joy in this wine but there’s also structure and length. Bannockburn riesling is under appreciated in my view. You can drink this for the pure pleasure of it but it holds up to scrutiny too.” - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
James Halliday – “Vines planted ’76 and ’15. Vibrant and fresh, the only Mediterranean climate to succeed with this whole-bunch pressed riesling; elegant, crisp and fresh; tingling acidity.” - James Halliday, The Wine Companion
