World Wine – One of the best examples of this wine we have shipped. Nothing like the stereotype of Bordeaux, this is fresh, vibrant and medium bodied. Lovely purity, the red cherry, blackberry, iodine and subtle spice aromatics leading to a pretty, juicy and energetic palate with plenty of pulpy fruit and round tannins and a lip-smacking, tangy close. Another bargain.

The Wine Front – GARY WALSH - THE WINE FRONT This is our regular Provence rosé, and I’d reckon we’ve knocked off (easily) more than 20 bottles since last spring, so I thought I’d better push out a note. Pale. White peach and redcurrant, a bit of tang and ruby red grapefruit, light chalky feel, freshness and vibrancy. Good zesty length. Such a good drink. It keeps you coming back for more…

Wine Enthusiast – Vanilla and toasted coconut open the nose of this wine, before being joined by bright strawberry-cherry and stony underbrush. Strawberries and wild green watermelon notes perk up the palate, with more vanilla and also milk chocolate. Tannins are beginning to uncoil but acid remains present and accounted for.
James Suckling – A super-clean, fruity red with juicy blackcurrant and dark cherry character. Medium-bodied with very fine, fruit-coated tannins and a fresh finish.

The Wine Front – “Organic shiraz is the bedrock for this traditionally made sparkling wine. Tart and zingy, tightly wound bubbles, skittish and refreshing. Quiet perfume of raspberry and white strawberries, a dash of spice. Flavours set to similar spectrum with a squeeze of blood orange and tangerine, ie a little cloying sweetness in the pithy, off-dry citrus mix. Really delicious drinking and damn easy to do so. A nicely put together, elementary sparkling wine of character.” - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
James Halliday – "Hand-picked organic shiraz from the Weightman's Block 3. Whole-bunch pressed, made in the traditional method. This is uncomplicated and delicious. Pomegranate and blackberry are the dead giveaway to shiraz, plus lashings of raspberry and watermelon that keep things light. This right here is perfect summer rosé." - Erin Larkin, Wine Companion

The Wine Front – "It’s the best Shiraz/Grenache/Tempranillo/Merlot blend I can recall tasting, or so I quipped back in August 2023, while tasting this with incoming winemaker Tim Shand. I’m trying it again now, as it wasn’t released back then. This vintage is the first with Tim at the controls. No SO2 added here. Juicy, sweet red berries, cherry cola, a little earthy and peppery, baking spice. Fleshy, bright, but lovely texture and fine silty tannin, some meatiness, but succulent and juicy to close, with a gentle hit of bitterness. Good stuff. The shape of things to come at Voyager, perhaps." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)
James Halliday – "Tim Shand took over as chief winemaker in late 2022, so this wine represents one of the first under his guardianship – and a brand-new one to boot. Very much in the Yarra Valley dry-red vein, no surprise given he spent more than a decade in that region, though this is a Margaret River version. A blend of 40/20/20% shiraz/grenache/tempranillo, all whole bunches, and 20% merlot, which is destemmed but left as whole berries, each parcel fermented separately and popped into old oak for three months before blending. It’s a cracking wine. Lovely supple tannins, tangy and juicy acidity with the core of bright, red-accented fruit flavours all in line and an attractive leesy flavour, too. Super-fresh and vibrant all the way through. Gluggable comes to mind, so does delicious. It’s not about ageability or complexity, Vivid Red is about drinkability and for a lighter-framed style, this is excellent. Don’t be afraid to chill this down in warmer weather. Don’t be afraid to drink it with gusto, and best to do so as it’s preservative free." - Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)

The Wine Front – Comfort wine, like falling into a plush old couch. Blueberry, dark cherry, a little coconut and nougat, some aniseed and spice. Medium to full-bodied, lavish sweet dark cherry and blue fruits, some mint and cuddly nougat oak, fresh but bold, stony tannin profile, and a juicy berry and vanilla finish. Old school, but really good in that way. I think it’s most excellent. Drink 2022-2030+ - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
James Halliday – Old vines planted by Italians and Greeks, those who introduced the joy of drinking wine to the contemporary Australian table. A propitious detour from the Germanic influence over yonder. A savoury, full-bodied expression founded on a structural refinement that other cultivars fail to provide in these hot parts. A sluice of evergreen tannins framed by a morass of palate-staining currant and herbs, a mulch of plenitude and uncanny sophistication. A very good drink. - Ned Goodwin MW

James Halliday – A pulpy wine of weight and swagger that, for me at least, defines exactly how merlot should be handled in this country: plenty of whole berries, gentle agitation and a well-placed curb of oak for compression. The result is floral, plummy and juicy, insouciant in a way and yet savoury enough for easy drinking with anise, mint and kirsch lining up across the succulent finish. Loads of fun. Best enjoyed with a slight chill. - Ned Goodwin MW
