Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – The 2008 Quella is a dark, brooding wine loaded with super-ripe dark black fruit, smoke, tar and licorice. It is a seriously intense wine that will require bottle age. This is an especially authoritative wine from Bond.

James Suckling – Jame Suckling - Aromas of orange peel, currants, olives and subtle rosemary. Full body with a beautiful balance of fine tannins and a fresh finish. Super-refined and beautiful.

Decanter – Decanter - 2009 was a cooler vintage, and that's reflected in the complex bass notes of black olive and tobacco which inflect this Opus One's bouquet of dark fruit, chocolate and licorice; supple and polished on the palate, this wine has more of a savoury edge to its tannic profile than riper years such as 2007. Cabernet Sauvignon only makes up 81% of the blend here, complemented by fully 9% Cabernet Franc, a variety that plays an increasing role at Opus. (

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Robert Parker - A dead ringer for a classy white Burgundy, the 2014 Chardonnay la Rinconada gives up lots of green citrus and mineral characteristics in a medium-bodied, firm, focused, chiseled and crystalline style. It still has bracing levels of acidity, but there’s solid texture and depth here, and this beauty will need time to come together. Give bottles 3-4 years and enjoy over the following decade.

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Robert Parker - The 2015 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Block W has white peaches and grapefruit on the nose with touches of lemongrass, shaved almonds and white pepper. Light-bodied with plenty of citrus and stone fruit freshness, it has a zippy backbone and mineral suggestions on the finish.

Antonio Galloni/Vinous – The 2014 Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard presents a super-classic sense of Sta. Rita Hills exuberance, but tempered by Justin Willet's hand. Racy and forward in its fruit profile, the 2014 wraps around the palate with striking textural depth, yet there is plenty of structure to back things up. This powerful, deep Pinot could use another few years in bottle. This is the most overt and flamboyant of the Tyler Pinots.

Antonio Galloni/Vinous – The 2015 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard - Old Vines is bold, pungent and super-expressive. It also has huge tannins that are going to need time to soften. The aromatics are beautifully lifted, but this is a virile, potent wine with real muscle behind its powerful, dense personality.

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Robert Parker - A blend of 64% Cabernet Franc, 27% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec, the very deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Le Désir is a little reticent at this very youthful stage, offering glimpses at dusty soil, iron ore, black truffles and salami notes over a core of red currant jelly, black raspberries, blackberries and star anise plus a waft of roses. Medium-bodied, very firm and very elegant yet incredibly intense in the mouth, it delivers loads of red fruit and earthy layers, finishing with great length and depth. 2,500 cases produced.

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Robert Parker - The 2013 Le Desir represents 2,500 cases. This is the softest of the three wines in 2013, and this blend of 61% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec emerges with more than half of the cuvee coming from Hillsides in Alexander Valley, 37% from Chalk Hill and the rest tiny dollops from Bennett Valley and Knights Valley. Opaque purple, like its siblings, the wine is showing incredible floral, blueberry and espresso notes, exotic Asian spices, velvety texture, a supple, multilayered mouthfeel and incredible finish, with incense and licorice. This is magnificent young wine, with a good 40-50 years of upside potential. Pierre Seillan is justifiably proud of what he has achieved, and his first vintage of Verite was only 1998, but they go from strength to strength.

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Robert Parker - The 2006 La Muse (86% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Malbec; 900 cases produced) displays the structure, austerity, and tannic framework of a top Bordeaux. Even though it is dominated by California-grown Merlot, it is not an up-front, forward, seductive effort. It exhibits notes of underbrush, earth, cedar, black cherries, and espresso roast in a medium to full-bodied, tannic, concentrated, extracted style. It requires 3-4 years of bottle age, and should evolve for 25+ years.

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Composed of 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec, the 2015 La Muse sports a very deep garnet-purple color, leaping from the glass with exuberant crème de cassis, blueberry pie and licorice notes plus suggestions of Indian spices, dark chocolate, menthol, sautéed herbs and potpourri. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it delivers tons of black and blue fruit preserves flavors, accented by exotic spices, framed with velvety tannins and finishing on a persistent earthy/mineral note. 3,900 cases were made.
