The Wine Front – Sure is fresh. Smells like wild berries, briar, game meat, but sits lifted and bright in the bouquet. Crispness to taste - red fruit running wild with more dried herb and spice, brisk acidity, clip of sandy tannins, finishes long and frisky. Tannin profile and cranberry acidity builds from sip to sip, and the wine feels fit for running across a charcuterie board in daylight hours. Beautiful drinking, simple in its form. Utterly charming for the bucks.
About This Wine
This is a bottling that has everything we love in a wine around this price point - super bright fruit, good flesh and racy freshness. There's also plenty of authenticity and a splash of complexity that elevates it well above the norm. Think red berries, dark cherry, violet and garrigue, and Provençal forest notes on both the nose and palate. There are some refreshingly crunchy tannins and good acidity giving the wine the kind of lift that is rarely encountered in Corbières.
