Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Tree sap, melted candle wax and a touch of diesel are all here, a decidedly intoxicating bouquet. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, hints of lemon and orange rinds. It is more austere than other Goisots, but there is a superb lemongrass and stem ginger finish that keeps this on its toes." 91 points, Neal Martin

Allen Meadows – There is plenty of sauvignon blanc character present on the airy, cool and attractively fresh nose. Once again there is fine volume and concentration to the punchy and beautifully delineated middle weight flavors that deliver fine persistence on the clean, dry, linear and mildly austere finale. This will need a couple of years of bottle age to round out but it should be lovely.

Saint Bris is an intriguing appellation in the renowned wine-producing region of Burgundy, France. Unlike its neighboring areas that predominantly focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Saint Bris is celebrated for its exceptional Sauvignon Blanc wines. The terroir here is uniquely suited to this grape variety, giving it a distinctive character that sets it apart from other Sauvignon Blanc wines. The region's cool climate, combined with its limestone-rich soils, imparts a fresh minerality and crisp acidity to the wines. The historical significance of Saint Bris dates back centuries, with viticulture deeply ingrained in its cultural fabric. Over the years, its winemakers have passionately upheld time-honored traditions while also embracing innovative techniques, ensuring that each bottle captures the true essence of this remarkable region.
Saint Bris is a unique wine appellation nestled in the heart of the renowned Burgundy wine region in France. Located near the town of Auxerre, it lies slightly southwest of Chablis. While Burgundy is a region predominantly acclaimed for its Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Saint Bris stands out for its distinct terroir and grape preferences. The area is enriched with a history that spans centuries, where the vines grow deep into limestone-rich soils, absorbing the minerals that lend the wines their unique character. The cool Burgundian climate and its proximity to the Yonne River give the wines of Saint Bris a special freshness and vibrancy.
Wines from Saint Bris are known for their exceptional quality, especially given their price point. These wines present a beautiful balance of flavors, aromatic complexity, and a crisp minerality that makes them both refreshing and memorable. Due to its lesser-known status compared to its famed Burgundian counterparts, wines from Saint Bris often offer tremendous value. They are, therefore, a fantastic choice for those seeking high-quality French wines without the hefty price tags of the more renowned appellations.
Saint Bris holds a unique position in the Burgundy region, primarily because of its varietal focus. While most of Burgundy champions Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Saint Bris is celebrated for its exceptional Sauvignon Blanc wines. This grape variety thrives in the region's cool climate and limestone-rich soils, producing wines with a distinct minerality, aromatic freshness, and invigorating acidity. This deviation from the norm provides wine enthusiasts with a fascinating exploration into the diversity that Burgundy offers.
Determining the best wines from Saint Bris can be subjective, as individual preferences vary.
