James Halliday – "96 Points. Fruit from eight vineyards across the Barossa and Eden valleys, anywhere from 10-60% whole bunches depending on the batch, 3 weeks on skins and all French oak, 45% new. The wine stands out. Spice, fruit, pepper and wood smoke flavours explode onto the palate and ramp the seduction from there. It's both supple and fresh, but the fruit power is obvious. In short, it's really good. 14.5% alc. To 2034. - Campbell Mattinson, Halliday Wine Companion 2020.

James Suckling – 2018 Vintage Review - “This is so very complex and fragrant with such impressive Eden Valley spice and blueberry fruit, as well as dark-stone nuances. The blueberry flavors are so pure and essence-like and silky tannins carry the flavors so deep and vivid. Seamless. Drink over the next fifteen years.” - Nick Stock, James Suckling’s Top 100 Australian Wines of 2021

James Suckling – 2018 Vintage Review - “Abundant sweet spice and red fruit, as well as licorice and tar. There’s impressive density here with deep blackberry and chocolate flavours and bold, smooth tannins. Some convincing density and length.' Nick Stock, James Suckling’s Top 100 Australian Wines of 2021

James Halliday – The 22nd release of this particular grenache/shiraz/mourvèdre blend (this year 45/30/25%); from vines up to 90-plus years of age across Trial Hill, Light Pass, Nuriootpa, Seppeltsfield and Vine Vale. And it's a good 'un! Bright, perfumed and detailed with super-pure plummy fruit, layers of spice, earth, florals, gingerbread and roasting meat goodness. Driven by a vivid line of lacy acidity and framed with powdery tannin, it seems like it is a good place and will provide great drinking over the medium term. - Dave Brookes Published 06 July 2023
