The Wine Front – Struck match, preserved lemon, pine-lime, aniseed, cashew and spice. It’s glossy, with a bit of parmesan rind savouriness, bright grapefruity acidiy, creamy cashew, excellent intensity, and a flinty yet rich finish of excellent length.

Wine Enthusiast – 96 Points - "Many Marlborough sauvignon blancs are made to a familiar formula; lean and green and refreshing with bright acid. This new release from Dog Point offers something just a little bit different. Certified organic, it has a little more mouthfeel, a tad more palate interest, than many of its contemporaries, while retaining its aromatic appeal. This has vibrancy, allied to some interesting palate complexity thanks to wild yeast fermentation and some whole bunch elements; a wine that demands to matched with seafood, perhaps some mussels or cockles. It is bright and lively with fresh citrus and nectarine notes. Punchy, taut and intense with well-judged acid, faint smoky hints and immediate appeal. Well worth seeking out. 96 points from me." World Wine – 'Orange-tinted wine from a lengthy period in contact with the skins. Dry, flavoursome pinot gris with quince, cherry, anise, spice and floral characters. An intriguing wine with a peppery tannic texture that gives support without pain. I am not a great fan of many 'orange' wines but I do like this example. World Wine – How to describe this Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough's Catalina Sounds? Herbaceous! Pineapple sage and cut herbs spill from the glass with gooseberry and green capsicum. There is a whisper of passionfruit with green melon skipping through late. Well made and well balanced, it's clean and crisp with refreshment bursting at the seams. Huon Hooke – Gentle, moderately soft sauvignon blanc with passionfruit, lemongrass, red capsicum, guava, ginger and citrus flavours. There was 30% fermented in large French oak casks to build texture and complexity. The wine certainly has good weight and a silken texture. (Bob Campbell, The Real Review, 7 July, 2021)
