The Wine Front – “Zesty oily quality, citrus essential oils, apricot, a bit of fresh aromatic herbs, pastry with sweet cream and pickled ginger. That touch of something ‘pickled’ (by no means vinegar, maybe preserved is a better word), gives a nice savoury edge to the sweet perfume. Aromas are accentuated just enough, tamed from being extreme with a cleansing bitterness and zesty bite, pithy salty quality on the palate. Cinnamon, ginger, ruby grapefruit on the finish. So good.” - Kasia Sobiesiak, The Wine Front

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – "The 2022 Mother Block Skin Contact White is a blend of Vermentino (41%), Ansonica (19%), Pecorino (19%), Falanghina (14%), Moscato Giallo (5%) Grechetto (1%) and Nosiola (1%). The fruit was co-fermented and is a golden hazy yellow in the glass. On the nose, there are musk sticks, blood orange, citrus oil, beeswax, creamed honey, cold toast and a host of other textural, yellow fruit characters, loquat among them. The palate follows suit and rolls over the tongue in the pillowy way that skin contact white wine can do. The texture from the skin tempers the purity of acidity, but the length of flavor through the finish remains untouched. Very good, lovely wine. Kudos for procuring the out-of-the-way varieties." - Erin Larkin (Robert Parker Wine Advocate)
