Bachelot Monnot Bourgogne Blanc 2015
Even considering the quality of growers we work with, this is an impressive Bourgogne Blanc. It comes from some seriously impressive terroir - 1.3 hectares of 20-50 years old vines in Puligny (spread across four parcels) and a plot of young vine Chassagne on chalky soil - and this combined with the quality of the viticulture, harvest date and confident, hands-off winemaking has led to a very impressive white Burgundy. A flat-out winner - electric energy yet simultaneously generous and open in texture. Excellent depth for the level too.
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – The 2015 Bourgogne Blanc sees around 15% new oak and has a perfumed nose with citrus peel and lime aromas - good attack here. The palate is fresh and vibrant, their location in Puligny lending steeliness and tension towards the refined finish. This is one of the best white generic Burgundy you can buy. 87-89 points, Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com #222
