Bleasdale Vineyards Generations Malbec 2015
This wine is dark purple with intense aromas of violets, blackberries, plums and clove spice held together with assertive but velvety tannins. A long, rich, opulent palate complemented and underscored by toasty oak.
Bleasdale has been producing Malbec table wine since 1961 and has deep expertise with this tricky variety. Individual vineyard blocks are picked and crushed separately before maturation and blending.
The Wine Front – Bleasdale has been growing Malbec at Langhorne Creek since 1961. This release saw 12 months in French oak, most of it used, and was bottled unfiltered. Winemaker Paul Hotker knows what he’s about; it’s abundantly clear. You have to be impressed. The balance, the softness, the depth of fruit, the finesse of the finish. It takes each step logically and as a complement to the one prior. Dark berries, some mineral, some leather, some saltbush. A teensy bit of cedary/toasty oak. Every inch feels massaged and ready to perform.
