Bodegas Roda Cirsion 2012
Deep cherry colour, with an almost opaque background and cherry-red edging.
Very intense and complex nose, with all the character of the great Cirsion wines: slight smokiness, with countless minor notes of black fruits and blackberries, an extremely smooth hint of violet in the background with a sweet spiciness conveying the smell of the earth before a rainstorm. Chocolate and mint as the climax to a luxurious composition of aromas that unfolds in the glass, producing a wonderful array of bouquets.
The palate is voluminous yet airy, almost weightless. Extremely fine tannins for this enormous, deep and constant wine. A caress of velvet in the mouth, leaving hints of small black fruits, earth and rain, smooth cocoa, going on to develop an endlessly deep sensation of freshness with countless different nuances. The sensations gather to produce an overall impression of extraordinary balance.
"Black, charry, with tobacco, violet, meat, lilac, angelica. Tremendously meaty, beautifully cut. A swirling, textural dream of a wine."
