Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Stones Chardonnay 2013
The White Stones Chardonnay has a bright lemon yellow color with gold highlights. Aromas of pears and apples are underscored by notes of vanilla and white flowers and a stony minerality. On the palate, the wine has flavors of baked red apples, Bosc pears, and quince along with notes of creamy vanilla and baking spices. The finish is crisp and bright with a stony minerality that lingers on the palate.
James Suckling – The aromas to this are very impressive with a dried fruits, stone and tangy lemon rind character. Hints of caramel too. Full body, layered and long. Made from grapes grown in Gualtallary in Uco.
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – The 2013 White Stones Chardonnay had penetrating balsamic aromas that seemed to enter the nostrils leaving a trail of citric and herbal aromas, with great freshness, as it felt almost effervescent. The palate shows superb acidity, great clarity, purity and a mineral-driven finish.
