John Duval Wines 'Plexus' Marsanne Roussanne Viognier 2016
Attractive pale straw color. Aromas of stone fruits, dried apricot and subtle Asian spice. Fresh flavours of nashi-pear and stonefruit, the 2016 is medium bodied with a moreish savoury finish supported by tangy acidity. Fresh and attractive as a young wine, it will develop in texture and richness and make for good food pairings with seafood and white meats.
|Varietal(s)||Marsanne Viognier Roussanne|
World Wine – Barossa blend of marsanne, roussanne and viognier. Six months in oak. Slender, direct, elegant and controlled. Indeed a far more elegant wine than this blend routinely produces. Built to age, you could also argue. Pebbly, spicy, stone-fruited and citrussy. Spice. Musk. A hint of reduction. Patience is required, but should be rewarded.
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – The 2016 Plexus Blanc has notes of apricots, poached pears and allspice with hints of honeysuckle and white pepper. Medium-bodied, there is a pleasant touch of oiliness to the texture with a great concentration of fruit, finishing with lingering anise and baking spice notes.
