The Wine Front – Tradition sealed with a screwcap. Poached strawberries, cherry and rhubarb pie, brown spices and a little fresh mint. Medium bodied, juicy cherry and strawberry fruit, though not really sweet, with this sort of spice and leather character. It's fresh, well defined and the tannin feels particularly good - a little grainy and firm - nice to swish round the mouth. Fresh finish too, some herbal and earthy flavours in the mix. Very good this. Don't overlook the wholesome beauty (and value) that straight McLaren Vale Grenache can offer.
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Pale to medium ruby/purple, the Basket Pressed Grenache has intense, red currant jelly, cranberry sauce and raspberry coulis aromas with hints of Rosés, pepper and orange peel. Full-bodied, soft, rich and seductive, it finishes long and pure.
