Lake Breeze Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
The Wine Front – Magnificent producer from Langhorne Creek, indeed probably the one that comes to mind as the region’s best, for me. Greg Follett seems to have great care for the legacy of the Follett family, 120 years young in the region. This comes from 45-year-old cabernet sauvignon vines. Traditional winemaking, let’s say. Deep, brooding, choc-raspberry, dark chocolate oak, gum leaf and pepper scented wine. Such a smooth ride to taste, inky in its concentration but never overwhelming the palate. Very fine tannins conspire with herb-kissed dark fruits, lifted on fresh acidity and finishing soft and slightly smudged (in the best possible way). Hedonistic, without staining the palate beyond repeat drinking. Very well done.
