Mountadam Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
The wine has a perfumed herbal aroma of bay leaf, black currant leaf, dried sage and black olive. A ripe black currant character adds to the wine's charm.
The palate is fruit forward with characters of black currant and plum dominating the front palate. The wine has an underlying spiciness and supple long tannins. Will cellar to 2024.
James Halliday – Very good colour; another example of Helen McCarthy’s skills as a winemaker, sculpting a cabernet with razor-sharp varietal definition, and also managing to provide textural complexity going beyond the tannins that are part and parcel of the variety. It all adds up to a cabernet that is already enjoyable, but also has a long future. James Halliday Wine Companion, March 2017
