About This Wine
Continuing the heavenly theme, the Musca constellation is a small array first noted back in the 16th century and found within the Southern Cross. Cool climate Shiraz (or as it is often termed, Syrah) is a welcome contrast to the style of big, bold reds we normally see from this grape and its more traditional Aussie regions. This is a fine example. Deep red in colour, we have a mix of aromas, with dry herbs, red apples, light chocolate notes and bay leaves. There is good acidity and a fine balance to be found here. Lifted aromas give way to attractive notes on the palate, which exhibits real energy. Fine tannins, good focus and the merest hint of bitter almonds on the finish. Enjoyable and interesting drinking now, but it will cellar well for 8 to 10 years if you desire
