The Wine Front – Single vineyard riesling from the famed Watervale sub-region of the Clare Valley. 1360 dozen made. Bang on. Intensity here is very good. Lemon sorbet and lime juice flavours burst onto the palate and hold their form through a lengthy finish. Excellent drinking and value. Pure as a bright blue sky.
About This Wine
VINIFICATION: Mild weather throughout January to April allowed for even ripening conditions and good flavour/natural acidity profiles. Pronounced lime/lemon aromas and flavours, with hints of orange blossom are a confirmed indicator of another great Riesling vintage in the Clare Valley. The grapes were harvested in mid March. Only the free run juice is used for the Tim Gramp Riesling. Post fermentation the wine was cold stabilised and filtered. The wine was bottled in mid May. 12.5% alc/vol
TASTING NOTES: The fruit for this wine was sourced from the famous Watervale region off the Castine family Golf House single site vineyard. A classic dry style of Riesling with vibrant lime, lemon and floral aromas. The exhilarating citrus flavours on the palate balance nicely with the embracing acidity, finishing with good length of flavour. Cellaring potential of 7 - 10 years will reward the consumer with a wine of enticing complexity.
