Un Air de Remejeanne Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge 2015
80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. All of the fruit for Olivier Klein's cracking value, organic Un Air Côtes du Rhône is drawn from the estate's highland, sandy limestone vineyards set around the hamlet of Sabran. Everything is picked by hand, sorted, and then mostly de-stemmed. The ferment is natural and the wine then spends seven to eight months in concrete tanks with no fining and only a light filtration prior to bottling. From a warm, dry season, 2015 is a more supple, silky manifestation than last year's bottling; still medium-bodied and still filled with plenty of raspberry and black cherry fruit as well lavender and thyme, and other aromatic herb notes. Although there's a fleshy texture, the finish is crisp and mouth-watering, courtesy of its high country origins. All up, terrific Côtes du Rhône for the money. Any other questions can be answered by opening the bottle...
