Description

The Vieille Vigne du Levant 2013 cuvée from Maison Larmandier-Bernier is a Blanc de Blancs champagne with great freshness and magnificent balance.

Previously called Vieille Vigne de Cramant, Vieille Vigne du Levant is the first single-plot cuvée created by Pierre Larmandier in 1988. It highlights the aromatic power of the vines located on the south-eastern slope of the Coteau de Cramant, on a terroir where chalk is exposed. .

The year 2013 experienced a particularly late cycle but the radiant summer allowed maximum sunshine and low rainfall, ideal parameters for the maturity of the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. Then the autumn harvests produced elegant wines with strong freshness.

The Vieille Vigne du Levant vintage produces wines combining power and minerality. The age of the vine, more than 80 years, contributes to the complexity of the wine.

This champagne is aged in Stockinger barrels and tuns. The wines are aged on natural lees for the first year with light stirring, without filtration or fining. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. Once the vintage is in the bottle, aging takes place slowly (between 7 and 8 years) in the House's cellars.

The Vielle Vigne du Levant 2013 Larmandier-Bernier vintage is very lightly dosed (2 g/L) to better appreciate the balance and great length of this vintage.
