Quinta do Ameal Wine

The Ameal vineyards are referred to in the annals of the Refóios do Lima convent around 1710. The ancient Quinta do Ameal is situated in one of the oldest parishes in Portugal, establisded even before the country itself (1143). The propertyl boasts a rich environmental heritage and is considered to have exceptional agricultural and ecological potential, as well as an area of historical significance. In addition to the hectares is has under vine, the property is also known for its picturesque woodland, which forms an area of outstanding natural beauty next to the banks of the river Lima.

Devoted to the development of the native Loureiro grape variety the modern Quinta do Ameal produces wines in this sub-region of Lima, where the Loureiro grape variety is at its most aromatic and tasty. The wines are characterised by their freshness and youth, and possess a floral and fruity aroma.
