About This Wine
This wild, pomegranate-coloured rosado comes from a tiny, 60 year old, single vineyard called El Cuchillejo. Here the red-juiced Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) vines grow on chalky/clay soils at 930 meters of altitude, on the slopes of the Olmos de Duero valley. There are three hours of skin contact before the juice is bled off into small inox vats where the wine ferments without additions. Naturally clarified over winter, the wine is bottled unfiltered the following spring. It has the perfume and flavours of tangy Roséhip and cranberry with a squirt of raspberry and a crunchy, savoury close. Scores high on the deliciousness scale. Sadly the total production is a measly 500 bottles which makes the price even more remarkable
