Free Delivery (almost) everywhere

Delivery on your order is free for 99% of Australian destinations if its value is $250 or more. Your order can be for one bottle, a few, a mixed or a straight case - if the value is $250 or more, delivery is free.

For orders under $250, there's a modest $10 delivery fee. This will be automatically calculated and displayed as you purchase.

There are a few places where an additional freight charge will apply - regional and rural Queensland and Western Australia, and all of the Northern Territory. If your postcode in Queensland and WA is outside:

  • Queensland: 4000-4350
  • WA:6000-6025; 6800-6997

Then an additional charge will apply:

  • 1-6 bottles $35
  • 7-12 bottles $45

This will be charged in addition to the amount shown during Checkout.

Australia Post and Fastway are our couriers for deliveries within Australia. Both specialise in wine deliveries, with a focus on delivering wine safely, and they have a 'track and trace' system on their website so you can monitor the progress of your wine after it leaves us. When your wine is despatched from our warehouse, you will receive an email from us to let you know.

We CAN deliver to Post Office Boxes, and to wine storage facilities.

We may charge for re-delivery of orders if we are given incorrect address information. Also, we arrange for wine to be returned to us if the courier is unsuccessful on the first attempt at delivery, and the customer has not made contact after seven days to arrange for a re-delivery. If wine is returned to us, we charge a $35 fee to repack each case of wine, plus the actual delivery fee.

Whilst we make every effort to deliver all your goods in the agreed time, we will not be liable if we fail to do so in part or in full due to circumstances beyond our control.

Deliveries do need to be signed for by an adult aged eighteen years or older. We encourage deliveries to a business address to ensure someone is available to sign.

If you ask us to leave wine at your delivery address without a signature, we cannot take responsibility for fulfilment of the delivery.

Heat Policy

Provenance is one of our cornerstones, which means we will not ship wine if the temperature at your place, or en route to you, is likely to exceed thirty degrees for a protracted period. We also generally do not ship on Fridays, to avoid wine being held in courier warehouse over weekends.

This means in the hotter months your delivery may not be sent until we are confident that the wine will not be affected by heat. This is particularly true for more expensive, collectible and cellarable wines.

It is your wine so you can of course insist we ship! We can pack wine in special insulated canisters, that are excellent at protecting wine. If you'd like us to ship using these reusable canisters, please let us know. There's a fee of $3 for each bottle.

International deliveries

World Wine can ship to certain countries. Please contact us for details.

Credit card charges

Your purchases will appear on your credit card statement from World Wine.

Insurance

World Wine automatically insures each order. This covers you from any package lost or damaged in transit, unless you have asked us to deliver wine and given us an authority to leave (e.g. "Leave wine on verandah"). If you ask us to leave wine at your delivery address without a signature, we cannot take responsibility for fulfilment of the delivery. Also, if wine needs redelivery (because no one is available to sign for the delivery), insurance ceases, due to the increased possibility of damage. Ideally, please give us a business address for delivery, to ensure safe delivery first time.

Any claim for lost or damaged goods must be made within fourteen days of despatch.

Dissatisfaction with the Quality/Taste of Wine Received 

At World Wine, we are proud to offer great values on the world's best wines. Our goal is to help you choose the wines that you will enjoy. To give you a balance of information, World Wine displays ratings from several different well-noted publications. We also offer many product reviews and lists of our top sellers; all to assist you with your purchasing decisions.

While ratings, testimonials and reviews may influence your decision, the ultimate judgement is yours. Although we work toward providing you with as much information as possible to help you make a selection you will enjoy, we cannot guarantee that you will like the taste of every bottle of wine you select. However, in the event you do experience a problem with the quality/taste of a bottle, please contact us within 30 days of your purchase date and provide the details of your problem. If you would like to return an order for taste reasons, we will issue a refund or account credit, less the original shipping and handling charges, and return shipping and handling charges.

Your delivery will be between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday within 3-10 working days from receipt of order. Some orders may take a little longer to fulfill e.g. if we are waiting on a shipment from overseas or a new vintage to arrive. Please also see our Heat Policy below.

Returns Policy

This policy includes rights you are entitled to under Australian Consumer Law.

If there is a problem with any of the items received for your order then the WorldWine Customer Care team is available to help you.

If you have received an item that is incorrect, damaged or faulty please contact us as soon as possible from the time the delivery was made. WorldWine may require evidence of the issue and may require you to return the item for assessment.

At its discretion WorldWine may provide means to return an item at no cost to you, or an alternate remedy.

WorldWine is not obligated to accept a return for a change of mind. If we do accept a change of mind return then you must pay return postage and will be entitled for a refund, excluding the cost of shipping, for the approved returned item.

All returns must be packed securely with cardboard or bubble wrap protecting the item, packed to prevent movement inside the package and ensuring the package is firmly enclosed.

Returned items must be received at WorldWine in new and re-saleable condition (except where a damaged item has been accepted for return).

Refunds for an approved return will only apply to the item returned and will not cover any return postage costs or your original shipping charge unless World Wine is at fault. 

Refunds are processed back to the original mode of payment upon successful receipt and evaluation of the package. This may take up to 1-10 business days depending on your financial institution. 

Signature Policy

You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase wine from World Wine. We recommend you provide us with a business shipping address for best service.

WARNING: Under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 it is an offence to supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years (Penalty exceeds $6,000). For a person under the age of 18 years to purchase or receive liquor (Penalty exceeds $500).
