About this Wine

100% Touriga Nacional, organically grown, sourced from grafted vines on Isolation Ridge. The vineyard sits on an undulating northern and eastern-facing slope on ancient duplex soils of gravel and loam over a clay sub-soil. It is farmed using organic viticultural practices and this is reflected in the depth and concentration of fruit flavours. The vines are trained on a Vertical Shoot Position (VSP) trellis system to enhance sunlight penetration of the canopy and optimize ripening conditions. Touriga Nacional was grafted into the vineyard in 2017.

The vines were spur-pruned. The grapes were machine harvested and shallow-fermented in stainless steel open fermenters, before being aged for 10 months in 500 litre French oak puncheons. Unfiltered and unfined. – Hunter Smith, Frankland Estate

The Wine Front – Organic farmed and raised. A very meaty, slurpy red of sweet, molasses soaked berry and nut scents and flavours. Huge, yet has a vitality amongst that richness and slosh.
