The Wine Front – This is pure Tumbarumba. It has power but most of it is up its sleeve. Its charms are suggested at. Honeysuckle, lemon curd, chalk, white peach and fennel. There’s a botanical note, don’t ask me to name it. Actually maybe I already have. The flavours drive through the palate as though there’s a task to be completed and it must do so. There’s some gather to the finish, a half turn, let’s call it a shy, and then it carries straight on, it has to. Maybe it’ll take one, maybe two, maybe it will be three but once these years have passed the seas will open and the glasses will fill and we won’t have time for regrets because we’ll be sailing.
