Castel Firmian Lagrein 2023 is a rich and expressive Trentino DOC red wine from Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, crafted from 100% Lagrein, one of northern Italy's most distinctive native grape varieties. Produced by Mezzacorona under the Castel Firmian label, this wine showcases the power, elegance and Alpine freshness that have made Lagrein a regional icon.
Deep ruby with violet hues, the wine opens with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry and ripe plum, layered with notes of violet, dark chocolate, black pepper, vanilla and subtle spice. The palate is full-bodied yet refined, offering velvety tannins, balanced acidity and a lingering savoury finish with hints of leather and mineral complexity.
