"Here is a wonderful example of how to manage and coax the best from the assertive tannins of this famous Piedmont variety. Yes, the tannins are there, they have to be, but the bright red fruits show a lift of rhubarb and cranberry with a little bright raspberry confection. I could drink a bit of this, it has that chalky ironstone and brick dust character you often find in the Barolos of Piedmont."
APPEARANCE
Pale garnet with brick red hues.
AROMA
Fragrant aromas of rosehip, red cherry, cranberry and red currant with cured meats, aniseed and musk, and hints of ginger root, ground nutmeg and dried thyme.
PALATE
An intense, complex and supple medium-bodied palate of spicy pureed strawberry, cranberry, raspberry and truffle, with a crisp acid line and long chalky tannins on the finish.
