About this Wine

These wines are the first release of CellarHand’s very own Domestic Purchasing Manager, Cornelis Ribbe. Corn has been making wine with George Mihaly from Paradigm Hill, since 2015 and these are his first releases after finishing his Viticulture and Oenology Degree at the University of Adelaide. Made with minimal intervention in small batches, as a winemaker in residence at Paradigm Hill Winery in Merricks North, we are very excited to have them on board.

The Pinot Noir only received a lick of so2 at bottling and is un-fined and unfiltered, super clean though as I dotted over the wines in barrel! Bottled after 9months in oak, 30% new. Diam closure with (hand dipped) wax seal. Fruit sourced from 2 different vineyards in Balnarring, 50% purchased (Abel Clone) and 50% grown (MV6). – Cornelis Ribbe

Mornington Peninsula Wines

South of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region has a cool, maritime climate that is most known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. Other varieties that have seen some success here include Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.

However, it does seem that Pinot Noir is their focus judging from the fact that The Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration is held once every two years. The event displays the region’s capabilities in making some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir in front of local and international audiences.
