We also have access to more than 5000 fine wines from around the world through our local supplier network. Sometimes a vintage changes, or our suppliers sell out of stock without us yet being able to push through a timely update on our website.

Description
From a cool year, this wine has softened and relaxed in bottle after 3 years in bottle. It's lightish in colour, but this is deceptive as the palate is complex, savoury and long with smoky, almost spicy notes. It's serious a continental (don't use the B word....!) style, not a big fruit bomb.
Winemaker Jeff says: "The colour is a bright ruby garnet with flashes of crimson at the rim. Aromatically this wine is quite expressive showing red currant, cranberry and raspberry fruits with typical Waitaki spiciness and an underlying note of darker fruit. The oak is understated, gently supporting the wine rather than playing a dominant role. In the mouth the wine shows distinctly varietal cool climate Pinot characters fine sinewy tannins and a long, tapered finish. It is a style made to enjoy while young with simple, honest bistro food such as slowly braised lamb short ribs or pork cassoulet."
