Wine Enthusiast – Gentle aromas of red apple, citrus and ginger are backed by nuances of grass and tomato leaf. While the palate is crisp and refreshing, there’s a subtle texture and tingly acidity that add interest. The apple and citrus flavors linger delicately on the finish.

A brilliant light hay with green edges. Fresh green lime, lemon sorbet, crisp cucumber aromas with hints of fresh cut lemongrass, pink peppercorn and wisteria blossom. A subtle saline character reminiscent of celery salt and sea spray entwines with pink grapefruit and tarragon notes. The palate characteristics burst forth with lemon juice and lime zest creating a compelling liveliness. In the mouth, the wine is medium in length displaying yellow peach, watermelon skin and nectarine, with a creaminess that balances the mineral focused backbone, giving a lively lemon sorbet richness. Hints of Muscat flower and cypress pine sap invoke the nearby coastal origin of this wine.
The winemakers recommend that the freshness of the wine is accentuated by freshly shucked oysters with pickled lime zest, spicy laksa soup with smoked tofu and lemongrass or barbecue seared octopus with lime chili drizzle and Asian coleslaw.

Margaret River Wine
In the southwest of Western Australia, the Margaret River wine region is unique in that it is the most maritime-influenced region in all of Australia. The cool Indian ocean breezes come in through the summer to keep the temperatures around the vines steady resulting in an unusually even accumulation of warmth in the growing season. It is also quite dry as interestingly less than 20% of the annual rainfall occurs as the grapes are growing. The region’s climatic factors have been compared to what Bordeaux would be like in a dry season. While the region’s total production is relatively small (3% of Australia’s total wine production), it is responsible for 20% of our premium wine market.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz as well as Bordeaux blends are all very popular red wine options in the region.
For whites, refreshing blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon as well as complex, age worthy Chardonnays are the specialties.
