James Halliday – The star of the Jim Barry show - it plays a different medley. This is superbly honed, brimming with power and depth, full-bodied yet there's a certain refinement too. Astonishing colour, all dark ruby and bright with purple tinges, the tannins velvety and savoury, the finish long. Every detail taken care of and the end result a complete wine. Surprisingly approachable, but built to last a considerable distance.
James Suckling – Some very complex, spicy aromas with espresso and licorice, as well as violets, blueberry pastry and blackberries. The palate has a very vibrant feel with some smooth fruit flesh around a core of intense, long and muscular tannin. Ripe dark-plum and licorice flavors. Spicy wrap at the finish. It’s open to some extent, but dense at the core. Drink over the next two decades. Screw cap.

"Deep medium crimson. Very complete and classic South Australian wine with beautiful dark chocolate, malt, blackberry, raspberry aromas with tobacco leaf / sage notes. Superb complex wine with plentiful praline, dark cherry, blackberry fruits, remarkable inky density / viscosity, plentiful fine loose-knit chalky / al dente tannins and beautifully integrated mocha / nutmeg oak. Bittersweet chinotto finish with a fine tannin plume. An outstanding vintage that will continue to develop for another 20 years. 16 months in French and American oak, 86% new. Screwcap 14.1% alc Drink now-2045"
Crimson red with a magenta hue in the glass, this wine opens with intense aromas of rich dark fruit, mocha and garden herbs. The palate displays rich black cherry and blackberry fruits with mocha like oak and hints of aniseed. A wine of great complexity and power, finishing firm and oaky with persistent sweet fruit length.
