Scorpo Pinot Gris 2018-White Wine-World Wine
Scorpo Pinot Gris 2018

James Halliday – Very pale pink; Paul Scorpo has a well deserved reputation for his Pinot Gris, and this isn't going to let him down. Clear pear/poached pear fruit provides excellent mouthfeel, and the finish is long and well structured. 14% alc.

Scorpo 'Old Vines' Shiraz 2019-Red Wine-World Wine
Scorpo 'Old Vines' Shiraz 2019

The Wine Front – In excellent form, as is the entire Scorpo range. White pepper melts into black cherry-plum and woodsmoke. Offers a good burst of ripe fruit but it's characterised by its pepperiness. Spicy tannin spins through the finish. I can't recall a better Scorpo shiraz.

James Halliday – This is almost black, with a shot of red/purple. It's not a wallflower. There are plenty of steadfast grainy tannins reined in by a ribbon of acidity. Smells great, tastes even better: black cherries, exotic spices plus sumac, the flavours are intense and satisfying. It opens up more and more, revealing a gloss across the full-bodied palate. Scorpo Estate Chardonnay 2018-White Wine-World Wine
Scorpo Estate Chardonnay 2018

The Wine Front – Classy wine since forever. Quite high toned floral perfume, shows some struck match/flint too, lean citrus character in the mix, even a touch of green herbs. I like it. The palate is quite lean but has a pleasing saline-mineral character layered on chalky, green apply fruit flavours and just a suggestion of marzipan oak character. It’s lovely, albeit quite green in its spectrum of fruit, though that curl of savouriness is there to lend a hand. I like the understatement, the pronounced mineral charm. It’s curious, complex, distinct and delicious stuff.
