We aim to have all wines be vintage specific. In the case the listed vintage is out of stock and you note you would like that particular vintage, we will inform you via email for approval to go ahead.
James Halliday – 12yo vines, machine-harvested, 5 days cold soak, open-fermented in small batches with cultured yeast, 30 days post-ferment maceration, matured in used oak for 12 months. Good colour for nebbiolo, clear crimson; the perfumed bouquet is already on song with rose petals and cherry blossom, the palate pure nebbiolo, at this stage flexing its tannin muscles rippling through the cherry fruits. Just be patient.
About This Wine
Grapes were handpicked and fermented in small batches as mostly whole bunches. After almost two months fermenting on the skins, the wine was pressed in a small hand operated basket press and then aged in 10-year-old 500L puncheon barrels for 18 months.
Focused and complex with great depth and structure. Blackberry, dark cherry, hints of rose, then plums and cooking spice.
Built to last; showing a seamless balance of fruit depth and tannin, it will continue to complex and gain further power with decades of cellar time.
