About This Wine
Another juicy, impeccably fresh Syrah from the Eden Road crew. The grapes were sourced from three vineyards and three soil types: Gundagai’s Tumblong vineyard on ironstone rich terra rossa soils, Hilltops, on decomposed granite and ironstone rich terra rossa, and from the Eden Road estate block in Murrumbateman where there are sandy loams over a granitic base. The wine was fermented with a small percentage of whole bunches and raised for ten months in three year old, 500 litre puncheons. It’s a terrific wine for the price with complex blackberry, dried floral, meaty, inky and clovey spice notes (almost Provençal!), a lovely juicy persona in the mouth and a driven fresh finish. Loaded with interest; this is simply a delicious and complex Syrah.
