James Suckling – This is big, powerful and intense, with loads of ripe fruit and spice character. Full-bodied, racy, very sweet and long. Complex, layered and fantastic, showing ginger spice. Really stands out. Excellent.

About This Wine

Château de Fargues is an ancient Château within the legendary region of Sauternes in Bordeaux's south. A delicate, yet unctuous dessert wine, Château de Fargues is a winery that uses minimal intervention to produce their wine of great concentration. The 2006 Sauternes is one of richness and opulence. Characters of dense honey, toffee and oak are prevalent yet retaining the trademark line of acid to bring it all together. Considered a heady, rich style, this Sauternes should be regarded as a wine for early drinking.
