Kay Brothers Amery The Cuthbert Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
The 2011 Cuthbert Cabernet is the fourth release of this commemorative wine produced to honour Cud Kay's long contribution to Kay Brothers. When Cud took over management of Kay Brothers, he built upon the hard work of his father and uncle, laying the ground work from which Kay's continues to prosper. Dedicated to his family, country and vineyard, Cud loved nothing more than rich McLaren Vale reds. So, with this, we dedicate the 2011 Cuthbert Cabernet to the memory of one of McLaren Vale's true gentlemen. The Cuthbert Cabernet revelled in the cooler conditions of 2011, giving rise to a medium bodied wine of great cut and persistence. A bouquet of barnyard, dried hay, a touch of mint, boysenberry/blackberry and a gamey edge. Fine, elegant tannin structure ensures excellent length on the palate, resulting in a long lingering finish. Bottled in February 2013, this wine will continue to develop for many years with careful cellaring.
