The Delta Farm, first established in 1848, is situated on the low-vigour clay soils of Marlborough's Wairau Valley. It was purchased in 2000 by four partners, including David Gleave MW and winemaker Matt Thomson. “The aim is to make the very best expression possible of Pinot from Marlborough,” explains Matt.
The second vintage of the 2005 Delta Vineyard Pinot Noir vindicated his vision when it won Champion Pinot Noir of Show at the 2006 New Zealand International Wine Show. The Hatter's Hill is a selection of the best Pinot Noir grown on the vineyard's hilly sites. Ever since, Deltahas continued to redefine the notion of great-value, super-expressive New Zealand Pinot Noir.
