Jancis Robinson – Light brick red. Sweet and ripe, really ripe red fruits like dried cherry and a hint of orange and herbs. There's a firm grip but the fruit fills it out from the centre, giving depth, length and incipient harmony. A firm grip, but not at all aggressive. Drink 2023 – 2032. 17/20. Antonio Galloni/Vinous – The 2017 Barolo Bussia is complex and ethereal in the glass. A whole range of floral and spiced notes give the Bussia its striking aromatic presence. Silky and harmonious, the Bussia is already very easy to enjoy. Even so, my impression is that the 2017 is holding back some of its potential. I would give it a few years in bottle. The long, persistent finish is a thing of beauty. There is a lot of wine here. 94 Points - Antonio Galloni, Vinous. February 2021
About This Wine
Pre Arrival Offer Ends 6th August - Orders Shipped 1st September
Born from the vineyards of Bussia in Monforte d’Alba, recently purchased and directly managed by the Company to expand the Barolo crus range with specific characteristics. The particular mineral component of Bussia’s terroir gives the wine a great structure, an intense colour, clear and enveloping tannins and a long and consistent aftertaste. The scent of red fruits such as raspberry and pomegranate very ripes are well blended with spicy and balsamic notes.
A wine that is adept at the long evolution in the bottle, up to 25-30 years and more in the best vintages.
