Unpretentious, high quality producer Evesham Wood makes complex, multi-layered, single-vineyard pinot noirs at fair and reasonable prices. The styles here lean toward black fruit characters, barnyardiness and silken textures. To maintain a high level of quality, the owner/winemaker, Erin Nuccio obtains optimally ripe, low yield fruit from the best possible sites in the area and uses minimal intervention in the winemaking process. The Pinot Noirs are not filtered prior to bottling so as to preserve texture and flavour complexity.
The Le Puits Sec estate vineyard obtained organic certification in 2000. Since 2005 Evesham Wood has been associated with the international organic/biodynamic organisation 'Renaissance des Appellations' , whose members are required to adhere to rigid organic and quality standards.
