Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir 2025 is a beautifully expressive single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the renowned Cornish Point vineyard in Bannockburn, Central Otago. Certified organic and biodynamically farmed, the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate and alluvial soils, producing wines with remarkable purity, finesse, and aromatic complexity.
The 2025 vintage opens with enticing aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry, rose petals, and violets, complemented by hints of baking spice, thyme, and subtle forest floor. On the palate, it is silky and refined, showcasing vibrant red berry fruit, fine-grained tannins, and bright natural acidity. Layers of spice and savoury minerality lead to a long, elegant finish.
Fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in French oak, this Pinot Noir reflects Felton Road's minimal-intervention philosophy, allowing the vineyard's distinctive character to shine. While approachable in its youth, the wine has the structure and balance to reward 10–15 years of careful cellaring.
Perfect alongside roast duck, lamb, mushroom risotto, or game dishes, Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir 2025 is an outstanding example of premium Central Otago Pinot Noir.

Central Otago Wines
Central Otago is a unique wine region for New Zealand as it does not grow any of the country's famous Sauvignon Blanc but also unique globally for being the most southerly commercial wine region in the world. The region is famous for its fruity and full-bodied Pinot Noir with about ¾ of all vineyards in the region growing this grape variety. One of our favourite Pinot Noir regions here at World Wine.
Central Otago is the only region in New Zealand with a truly continental climate, with large daily and seasonal temperature extremes. At 300m in elevation, vineyards are protected from the cold ocean winds by high mountains reaching 3700m. The soils are also different to the rest of the country, with heavy deposits of rough-edged mica and other metamorphic schists in silt loams.
Historically, the subregion of Bannockburn has seen the most success. However, the region has seen significant growth in recent years and other sub regions are also flourishing.
