Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – "The 2021 Hallgarten Riesling trocken Alte Reben is pure and refined on the remarkably precise and slatey as well as ripe and elegant fruity nose. Medium to full-bodied and with great finesse and mineral purity, this is a tight and salty, very persistent and lemon-bitter Hallgarten with a straightforward character. The aftertaste is fresh, crisp and enormously saline. A fascinating pure Riesling indeed." - Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate (August 2022)

Huon Hooke – 'Smoky gaspipe reduction and wonderful array of slaty mineral, floral and fruity aromas, gloriously detailed and hauntingly ethereal. The richness and concentration are superb, the persistence impressive and the aftertaste delightfully balanced and long. A delicious wine with a great future. (85 g/l sweetness) Drink: 2022-2035' 97 points - Huon Hooke, therealreview.com

Wine Spectator – Intense and vibrant, this awakens the senses with piquant acidity that underscores the passion fruit, lime and apple flavors. Shows firm structure and fine length, but the elements need time to come together in harmony. Best from 2022 through 2034.
James Suckling – The right edge of reductive funk here and a very fresh array of white-nectarine and lime aromas and succulent flavors. Sublime freshness and drinkability here.
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – Oliver Haag has stopped suppressing the vineyard name on the label of his Brauneberger "village" wine, so the newest release comes along as 2018 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett. The wine has a very clear, fresh and crunchy slate bouquet but is still reductive (in a very attractive way, though) before it opens to very clear, attractive ripe stone fruit aromas intertwined with spicy slate notes. On the palate, this is a clear, lush, fresh, salty-piquant and delicately structured Riesling with gorgeous fruit and a crisp, salty/slatey finish.

James Suckling – “Wonderfully floral and animating, but also peachy and succulent. This could almost be from the world-famous Wehlener Sonnenuhr site on the Mosel thanks to the scintillating interplay of fruit and acidity, with zero perceptible alcohol. Long, wet stone finish with tons of energy.” - Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com

James Suckling – “Extremely racy and extremely nuanced, this is a stunning example of the diamond-bright brilliance of the top 2021 vintage German dry rieslings! Crystalline clarity and purity. Only white fruits, but so many shades of pale. And the freshness at the finish reminds me of a shaded waterfall surrounded by ferns. Excellent aging potential.” - Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – “The 2021 Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling Trocken is pure and coolish on the intense and concentrated nose. From phyllite slate soils, this is a full-bodied, intense and salty-piquant, highly stimulating Riesling with lots of energy, phenolic grip and mineral tension. With fine tannin structure, the massive and concentrated body and fruit lead to a long and intense, aromatic finish. Long but still shy and still somewhat coated. Bottled at the end of June. 13% stated alcohol.” - Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
or $97.20 in any mix of 12 bottles.
James Suckling – “Very ripe yellow peach, mango and mandarin orange aromas with notes of floral honey and fresh basil. Ripe, substantial and well-structured, the fresh acidity give this precise contours. Seriously creamy on the mid-palate, but the finish is super clean. Made for the long-term.” - Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com
Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – “The 2021 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Spätlese offers an intense, almost raisiny but also fresh and flinty bouquet with concentrated and candied fruit aromas. Rich and lush on the palate, with stimulating salinity and piquancy, this is a highly stimulating Riesling with lush, sweet and concentrated fruit. Very long and very complex, this is a fabulous Spätlese from the Gräfenberg grand cru. 9% stated alcohol.” - Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate

James Suckling – “I love the bouquet of stone fruits, Amalfi lemon, bergamot and licorice. The richness and concentration easily fill out an ample body that’s rare in the 2021 vintage. However, this dry riesling masterpiece remains precise and cool. Glides off into the distance at the long, silky finish.” - Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com

James Suckling – “I love the mango creme-brulee character of this stunning dessert wine that doesn't fit in any of the conventional pigeon holes. Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – "Candied, spiced apple and overripe Persian melon dominate the Prum 2011 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese gold capsule, with honeyed impingement both aromatically and on the palate reinforcing the sense of relative opacity and rounded richness that the other Graachers in this year’s collection displayed. Here the sense of delicacy is nearly weightless; intriguing and enticing notes of liquid peony and lily enter the picture mid-palate after the wine takes on air; and for all of the botrytization in effect, there is a welcome retention of primary juiciness, spurring a lusciously long finish. Look for four decades or more of luxuriant satisfaction. Drink 2013 - 2053." - David Schildknecht - Wine Advocate (Apr 2013)
or $285.40 in any mix of 12 bottles.
James Suckling – "Complex nose of orange and lemon peel, plus fresh wild herbs and a touch of flint. Quite some weight for 12.5% alcohol with compact fine tannins and stacks of chalky minerality that accentuates the freshness at the long, very clean finish. Wild fermentation, then maturation in large oak casks and stainless steel. From biodynamically grown grapes. Unfiltered. Drinkable now, but best from 2024."
or $48.57 in any mix of 12 bottles.
James Suckling – "Breathtaking nose of ripe wild berries and herbs, savory and a touch of sous bois. Great concentration and amazingly mouth-filling for just 12.5%, this is a German pinot noir masterpiece and one of the wines of the vintage! Staggering length, the finish still tightly wound. You need some patience to get the best this has to offer. From biodynamically grown grapes. 100% whole cluster, wild-fermented, then 18 months in small oak. Unfiltered and unfined. Drinkable now, but best from 2025."
or $265.03 in any mix of 12 bottles.
James Suckling – "This Rheinhessen pinot noir has a striking nose of candied orange and baking spices with hints of herbal liqueur and savory. At one ripe and quite fleshy, but well-structured with a core of fine tannins that drive and focus the long chalky, yet fresh and elegant finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. 100% whole cluster, wild fermented, then 18 months in small oak. Unfiltered and unfined. Drink or hold."
or $88.33 in any mix of 12 bottles.
James Suckling – "Very complex nose of red fruits, candied orange, baking spice, wild herbs and smoke. Equally complex and refined on the tense and beautifully structured palate, perfectly filled out by the fine tannins. Long, filigree and stony finish. From a site with very shallow soil directly over a limestone cliff. From biodynamically grown grapes. 100% whole cluster, wild fermented, then 18 months in small oak. Unfiltered and unfined. Drinkable now, but best from 2024." -Stuart Piggot

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate – The 2021 Oestrich Riesling trocken Quarzit displays an intense golden-yellow color followed by an intense and concentrated bouquet with fine phenolic notes. Pure and enormously vital on the palate, this a long and tensioned, tight and textured Riesling from Oestrich. Fascinating again. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.

James Suckling – The forthright nose of candied lemon and smoke leads you into a well-structured chardonnay, with elegant acidity and plenty of chalky minerality. With a bit more complexity at the finish this would rate even higher. From vines in Flonheim. Limited production. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. - JamesSuckling.com
