The winery was built in 1927, uniquely placed between two rivers. This location provides wines with highly sought after terroir. The vineyards are blessed with a temperate climate and rich soils. In 2002, the family decided to begin producing their own wine. A gorgeous, state-of-the- art gravity flow winery was built and they made Maquis Lien, a “Super Chilean” blend using the vineyard’s best red grapes that express the story of its terroir.
‘These are subtle, harmonious,
elegant wines from Colchagua, in
a style with moderate alcohol and
ripeness, good use of oak (virtually
imperceptible) and no residual
sugar. Some might call them cerebral
wines. A welcomed style for me.’
