Providence Vineyards Wine

(1 products)
Tasmania's oldest vineyard, located in the Piper's River region. Planted by Frenchman Jean Miguet in 1956 as ”La Provence ”, it was the first commercial vineyard planted in 70 years, and revived the state's forgotten wine industry.  The French forced a name change in the 90s. Providence Vineyard has been owned and run by Stuart Bryce since 1980 - Stuart is a leading light of the Tasmanian wine industry. The three hectare vineyard "still produces exquisite chardonnay and pinot noir", as quoted by Max Allen in his book "The Future Makers, Australian Wines for the 21st Century." The top of the line ‘Miguet’ pinot noir is consistently one of  Tasmania 's best.
