The Wine Front – Perfumed and floral, blueberry pie, raspberry, spice, grilled meat, subtle wild herb and liquorice. Full bodied, but not heavy, loaded with succulent red and black berries, distinct ‘mineral’ feel and flavour – pencilly even – fresh but unobtrusive acidity, and layers of thick graphite tannin to temper the bold fruit, closing with lush fruit, a slick of tannin, and alarming length. Strewth!

An inky/purple-coloured, powerful, full-bodied, rich red, it possesses a huge, sweet nose of blue and black fruits, flowers, and subtle oak, a blockbuster mid-section, and an amazingly long finish. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for 15 or more years.
Selected from six distinctive parcels from the east facing slope of Roennfeldt Road in Marananga. Respective batches rested separately on lees for a 20 month élevage in concrete eggs and various sized French oak barrels. Succulent and perfumed the smallest parcel from the south-south-east facing slope brings pronounced blue berries to the mix as well as all the red and black fruits from the other parcels and spice from the less exposed flatter section.
