Heathcote Estate's Single Vineyard Shiraz has established itself as one of the leading wines from the renowned Heathcote region of Central Victoria. This Single Vineyard Shiraz is produced from carefully selected sections of Heathcote Estate's own vineyard, which lies on the famous strip of 500 million year old Cambrian soils. The grapes were fermented in traditional open fermenters after gentle destemming, with 70% of all batches receiving whole bunches.
The 2021 Heathcote Estate Single Vineyard Shiraz is another ripping release that opens with perfumed notes of lifted black and red fruit notes. A wine of impressive intensity, the palate is beautifully structured with layers of dark fruit flavours, spice and the typical concentration and length the region's best Shiraz are famous for.

Heathcote Wines
The Heathcote wine region in central Victoria is well known for its excellent red wines, most notably Shiraz. Heathcote reds are defined by their inky depth of colour, and deep, dark complex fruit flavours. This is combined with well balanced tannins and acid that help to give the wines great cellaring potential.
All this is made possible by the terroir. The Heathcote region sits at between 160m and 380m elevation with a temperate climate of even rainfall. The soils are rich in calcium red soils made up of “greenstone”. These soils are prized for their water retention capabilities allowing them to drain freely but still hold enough water throughout the growing season. The grapes that result are small and concentred which in turn make rich concentrated wines.
