Wine Enthusiast – "It's beautifully fruited and inviting on the nose showing ripe cherry, green olive, nutmeg, and subtle spice aromas, leading to an elegantly weighted palate that's juicy and persistent. Splendidly harmonious and soothing, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2029." - 98 Points - Winestate Magazine
About This Wine
Extremely great value for money!
Hand picked from low yielding vines at their high altitude, cool climate 300 acre estate in Oakbank. The grapes were chilled for 24-48 hours prior to a partial whole-bunch, whole-berry ferment, using only wild yeast. Extended maceration and maturation in 100% French Oak barrels for 10 months. Displaying complex aromas of strawberries and cream with hints of forest floor.
The palate is seamless and elegant. Red fruits with enticing gamey characters swirl within layers of mushroom and notes of fresh herbs. The French oak adds ample but delicate tannins delivering a generous delightful length. Savour on its own or enjoy as an outstanding accompaniment to a duck or game dish, alternatively stuffed wild mushrooms as a vegetarian option. Drinking beautifully now but will continue to evolve with careful cellaring until 2029.

Adelaide Hills
The Adelaide Hills is one of the largest geographical wine regions in Australia, and amongst the most diverse in terms of climate, soil and topography. Because of this, many different varietals are planted here with the most dominant being Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. It is generally thought of as a cooler region, especially when compared to neighbouring Barossa to the north and Mclaren vale and Langhorne Creek to the south.
NZ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has been popular in Australia for a while now, but Adelaide hills Sauvignon Blanc (the most planted grape in the region) could be considered the Aussie Savvy Blanc. From www.adelaidehillswine.com.au about their Sauvignon Blanc: “Wines that are textured, edgy, vibrant and dry with exceptional fruit definition, length and crispness that marry superbly with summer seafood.”
You can also find some cool climate shiraz from the Adelaide hills, defying the more common big bold style that is usually seen in Australian Shiraz.
